Parker Stevenson |
| |
Parker Stevenson had been appearing
in films and TV for five years before he was cast as teen-aged
sleuth Frank Hardy on the 1977 series The
Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries. While the 25-year-old Stevenson
was a skilled enough actor to convey his character's extreme
youth, his contribution to the series was overshadowed by the
teen-heartthrob attention afforded his 19-year-old co-star Shaun
Cassidy. Cassidy's season in the sun was brief, but Stevenson
has continued to flourish as a TV leading man. He has been blessed
with the good fortune of being associated with three of the
Small Screen's biggest hits: he played Joel McCarthy on Falcon
Crest (1984-85 season), Craig Pomeroy on Baywatch (1989-90)
and Steve McMillan on Melrose Place (1993 season only). Parker
Stevenson was the husband of actress Kirstie Alley. |

Betsy Slade |
| |
Betsy Slade began acting while attending
the Institute of Notre Dame, a convent school in her native
Baltimore. She appeared in the Thanksgiving play. She had to
give up her position as president of the Drama Club to do it
because that post precluded acting. Betsy really wanted to act
and she was fortunate in receiving a fellowship to Baltimore's
Center Stage for the 1971-72 season. She played several small
roles which enabled her to perfect her craft. In the fall of
1972, while visiting with a sister in Los Angeles, Betsy auditioned
for, and was cast in the role of Ursula as a schoolgirl in "Forget-Me-Not-Lane"
which was being produced at the Mark Taper Forum. It was there
that producer Richard A. Roth and director Peter Hyams saw her
and selected her for the role of Muffy Pratt in "Our Time."
Betsy Slade has six sisters and three brothers. Was Brian DePalma's
first choice to play the lead role in "Carrie." |
