An unseen intruder breaks into the Drew home, stealing documents that will allow Nancy's aunts, Ruby and Lela, to sell their farm. While Nancy's father lawyer Carson Drew, goes to the State Capitol to replace the papers, Nancy heads to the Farmhouse where she is plunged into a series of strange events that lead her deeper and deeper into danger. Clanging chains, secret panels and suspiciously hostile neighbors are only part of this seemingly unsolvable crime against the Drew household.
